DEREGULATION OF THE HUMAN SYSTEM
One change in the atmospheric conditions of our planet will effect everything from plant life, water levels, temperature, precipitation, and virtually everything associated to our planet.  In the same manner, one change to our internal planet (our bodies) will have a cascade effect on every related system.   So, when your blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar levels are out of "normal" levels, there is obviously something to which your body is trying to counteract.  Taking a medication that causes additional deregulation (changing what your body is naturally adjusting with a one size fits all medicine) seems to accomplish the goal right?  Well, the answer to that is quite simple.  If the medication is actually fixing the problem you should not have to continue to take it after the symptoms resolve.  Additionally, the symptoms should not return.  Note: in cases where the body has comprehensive damage, medication is the only option.

TERMS:

Regulatory: The systems of the body is in constant communication.

Cascade: A situation that continually worsens by compounding effects.

Regulatory process:  A system that is in constant state of receiving and transmitting information.

Systemic: The entire system of the body.

Medication causes regulatory changes to occur within the body.  Due to the cascade effects associated with altering the natural regulatory process, continued deregulation will occur within the entire system.  Meaning, once a regulatory process is altered (taking long-term medication), multiple other systems of the body become dis-harmonized, resulting in further future health conditions.  In our opinion, a person should only be prescribed regulatory medication if a life altering or life threatening issue exists.  This however is not the case in a short-term (acute and severe) ailment focused situation.  During such a case a combined effort should be made to first reduce suffering and second resolve the core root cause.  In this situation, both approaches should be accepted with the priority being given to the immediate treatment (reducing the symptom) and then identification and treatment of any underlying cause.  However, great caution should be given to anyone utilizing short-term relief as a long-term approach (often the mainstream medical approach).  As with each episode the underlying cause systemically worsens creating creator dysfunction and illness.

Medication should be used as the last resort.  Why?  Unfortunately, all medications have side effects.  Drug reactions can range from mild to life threatening (individually specific).   Additionally, medication effects the entire body, causing unpredictable and long-term changes (other health issues).  Although medication can be necessary, medication should be used when the body fails to regain its health through conservative approaches (nutrition, detoxification, diet, exercise...).
At the Clinic of Naturopathy, we pride ourselves on restoring health.  We do this holistically (considering the whole), with out the use of medication, injections, or invasive processes.  In doing this, health is restored and the dependency and adverse effects of medication are avoided.

At the Clinic of Naturopathy we provide our patients with a health care plan that is designed to accomplish two goals.
    1.  Our first goal is to correct any health conditions (current health issues).
    2.  Our second goal is to establish long-term wellness,  free from medication, disease and discomfort.  Simply put, our primary goal is restoring your health and keeping you well.

Our philosophy of treatment is defined in two distinct phases of care.
1. Corrective care
2. Wellness care

Corrective care focuses on a specific underlying health issue.  Examples (fibromyalgia, arthritis, high blood pressure, cholesterol issues, edema, gout, digestive issues, acid reflux, muscle pain, cancer, diabetes, liver disease and the like).

Wellness care focuses on maintaining health and preventing and/or reducing the occurrences of disease.  Examples: (detoxification, nutrition, and maintenance program).

Correction
The body, in its whole and natural form (being free of neurological, nutritional and metabolic dysfunction) will exist in a manner that is consistent with complete health and free from dis-ease.

OUR PASSION
Our passion is restoring and maintaining proper regulatory function within the human body.

OUR SCIENCE
Each individual organ performs specialized tasks.  Additionally, each organ is in constant communication (regulation) with the other organs and systems within the body, making the function of health a systemic process.
Health=each organ and system accomplishing its designed specialized tasks.
When a organ/system fails to accomplish its functions,  poor health/disease occurs.
Disruption of health occurs by loading (build up of congestion or toxicity) of a system or organ.
The first approach of restoring health should be cleansing (see cleansing) of the organ or system, allowing natural restoration (healing) to occur.  If this approach fails, following multiple techniques, and the person is experiencing life threatening illness or severe pain, then long-term regulatory medication (pharmaceuticals) should be provided.

The Current State of Health (United States)
During the past decade, the degree of physical health conditions affecting the US population has drastically increased.  Although the exact numbers remain intangible, it is statistically obvious that today there is a historically high percentage of individuals that are currently suffering with a severe, chronic illness.  This phenomenon must stop.  Restoring the proper function of the body is, and should be, the first approach to any health condition.  This however is not the current model being utilized in today's health care industry.  Please visit (DHS) Deregulation of the human system.  This will help you understand when pharmaceuticals are necessary and unnecessary.  More importantly, what will happen to the human body with long-term exposure.
